"First to Fall" screening with Director Rachel Beth Anderson

    6:30-8:30Ballroom Theatre

First to Fall1Presented by Izdahar, the documentary, “First to Fall,” will be making its Brattleboro debut at The Latchis Ballroom Theater. Sundance Award winning Director, Rachel Beth Anderson, will host a post-screening discussion on making this brave and dangerous film about the recent war in Libya. The documentary follows two young Libyan men who leave their comfortable lives in Canada to fight alongside their fellow countrymen. Upon arriving in Libya, their paths diverge. Hamid (26) blazes ahead with fearless enthusiasm, easily fitting into the boyish camaraderie among the rebel forces. Tarek (21) finds his journey more introspective and unsure, and is far from a natural-born soldier. For eight months, the cameras document raw moments of personal and breathtakingly dangerous acts of war and sacrifice.

    Tickets: $20 at the door
